Chevron pattern cork floors deliver a high-end look with a dramatically easier, faster, and more forgiving installation - without the cost and complexity of tradition chevron hardwood. Read on for an overview, an installation comparison chart, and to learn what makes our Chevron floor commercial grade.
Chevron Pattern Cork Floor Overview
Chevron pattern floors have represented luxury since their adornment of 17th century French palaces, but our latest innovation offers a new approach to this classic design!
WECORK introduced our fresh take of the classic chevron pattern to our Serenity Collection at the end of 2025. In choosing our first chevron floor, we selected our popular Blond French Oak color as a starting point, developing our new Blond French Oak - Chevron pattern.
Like all other Serenity floors, this new chevron pattern features high definition visuals digitally printed on a cork substrate. It is suitable for basements and all other spaces except for bathrooms, and is:
- Fade, water, scratch resistant
- Commercial grade
- Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) Verified
- Square edge with Uniclic locking system
- PVC free
- Impact Sound Reduction: 18 dB
- Suitable with radiant heating

Chevron Pattern Installation Made Simple
As with all WECORK floating floors, Chevron utilizes a simple Uniclic locking system. This makes for an easy installation of the roughly 4" long x 1" wide planks over a standard 6 mil vapor barrier, leaving a 3/8” expansion gap around the perimeter. Generally speaking, planks are connected by tongue and groove and secured gently with a Uniclic tapping block. Planks are stepped (staggered) for the desired layout and cut at the ends of each row to fit as necessary. (See complete installation and maintenance instructions.)

Chevron Installation Comparison - WECORK vs Hardwood
A quick internet search for a typical installation of a chevron pattern hardwood floor reveals how much simpler it is installing a WECORK Chevron cork floating floor. The comparison table below summarizes the difference:
| Method | Uniclic system | Glue/nail down |
| Difficulty | Easy-moderate | Expert level |
| Speed | Fast | Slow |
| Layout | Simple | Highly precise |
| Cost | Lower | Much higher |
Chevron Installation Comparison - WECORK vs Hardwood
Installing WECORK Chevron is cleaner, involves a fewer number of larger planks vs many more smaller flooring pieces, and therefore requires less cutting and less waste. (See our floating floor installation video as a reference.)
Whereas a hardwood installation of a chevron pattern can sometimes exceed the cost for the flooring itself, installing WECORK's Chevron flooring delivers a beautifully complex design with a fraction of the time and effort.
This is a win-win for dealers and customers alike. There are considerable savings on installation for both, and the end result is still a high-end, sustainable, commercial grade floor.

What Makes Chevron Commercial Grade?
Chevron is the newest pattern in our Serenity Collection of commercial grade cork floating floors. Serenity is finished with our patented Hot Coating, giving it a rugged AC5 / 33 Class rating for commercial durability. This contributes to Serenity floors being fade, scratch, and water resistant (based on ISO 4760 and NALFA standards).
This diagram shows that the layers of Chevron include:
- Layer 1 - Hot coating
- Layer 2 - Lightfast digital print
- Layer 3 - Cork Composite > 600 kg/m3 cork
- Layer 4 - 6mm moisture retardant HDF
- Layer 5 - Cork underlay
As a result of its extra durability, the Wear Layer Warranty of our Serenity Collection extends to 10 years for commercial use, or 25 years for residential use in normal traffic conditions. See additional Serenity Collection specs.
