Cork's
many transformations have paralleled civilization's progress. From
wine stoppers in ancient Rome to anti-vibration joints in a space
shuttle's boosters cork's distinctive attributes have added to the
quality of our lives. It is epitomized in WE Cork Flooring. Floor
tiles of cork were introduced to the world market in 1889. Many millions
of square feet have since been installed in this country, and numerous
cork tile floors in use for almost 100 years still exist in good
condition. WE Cork Floors have been improving the interiors of homes,
schools, hospitals, libraries and offices for decades.
The
advantages of WE Cork floors are enjoyed by people all over the country.
The husband who accidentally drops a plate from the couples' china
collection in the kitchen, only to have it bounce - unbroken - on
WE Cork Flooring... the basketball players whose joints land softly
on WE Cork Flooring in their school's gymnasium... the toddler who
crawls in his parents living room as WE Cork Flooring insulates him
from a cold slab floor... the patient at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota
who moves confidently on a WE Cork floor slip resistant wax finish...
and the librarian at the Los Angeles library who appreciates the quiet
in the Popular Reading Room as the sound of footsteps is absorbed
by WE Cork Flooring. When using WE Cork Tiles or WE Cork Planks, the
design possibilities are limited only by your imagination. Whether
you are using WE Cork Planks in a herringbone pattern or combining
all three shades of WE Cork Tiles to create your own style, your floor
is certain to be unique & comfortable.
Our
superior quality cork floor tiles consist of various sizes of cork
granules compressed together with special binders under very high
pressure ensuring that they will withstand the intensive wear of a
floor covering.
A cork floor not only offers natural charm but also provides great
comfort to the feet and legs. It creates a very quiet space and provides
a much appreciated insulation for both cold and warm climates. Unlike
most modern floor coverings our cork floors can be refinished to look
like new, anytime.
Between
1978 and 1979, the world famous Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota
installed approximately 70,000 sq. ft. of our waxed cork floor tiles
in their new extension. They have previously used cork floors in several
other parts of their facility. What better endorsement could a product
receive!
